Multi Bark

Envirozone

Brown in colour, Multi Bark is very durable and is resistant to windy conditions as it’s varied pieces knit together to form a blanket type ground cover. Therefore, it is great for embankments or steep slopes, in commercial, industrial and domestic applications.

Applications

Erosion Control: Raw pine bark helps prevent soil erosion by creating a protective layer over the soil surface. This is particularly important on embankments where soil is more vulnerable to being washed away by rainfall and runoff.

Moisture Retention: Pine bark mulch can slow down water evaporation from the soil, helping to maintain consistent moisture levels. This is especially beneficial on slopes where water can quickly run off.

Soil Stabilisation: The coarse texture of pine bark helps bind the soil particles together, reducing the risk of soil erosion and slippage on embankments.

Aesthetic Appeal: Pine bark provides a natural and rustic appearance to embankments, enhancing their visual appeal and blending well with surrounding landscapes.

Temperature Regulation: Pine bark acts as insulation, moderating soil temperature fluctuations and protecting plant roots from extreme heat or cold.

Weed Suppression: Like other types of mulch, pine bark mulch helps suppress weed growth by blocking sunlight and preventing weed seeds from germinating.

Benefits

Raw pine bark will decompose over time, contributing organic matter to the soil. However, this decomposition can be slower than some other types of organic mulches. This is generally a benefit, as it means the mulch will last longer on the embankment.
